Choose the meeting language
Pick the main language of the meeting in Listen → Language (also Settings → General → Meeting language). For most languages a + English switch also listens for English, for meetings that mix the two. Choose the language before you start: to change it, stop and start again.
- The default is Bulgarian + English. In our tests on Bulgarian speech it made fewer mistakes than Bulgarian alone or auto-detect.
- Auto-detect works, but is less accurate. Pick the language when you know it.
Supported and beta languages
The transcript is written by Google’s Gemini speech model, which handles 83 languages. Google marks 24 as supported; the others are experimental, shown as Beta in the app: they work, but are less tested by Google.
Supported
English (US, UK and India), Catalan, Croatian, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese (Simplified), Polish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Russian, Spanish (US), Turkish and Vietnamese.
Beta
Includes Bulgarian, Czech, Romanian, Serbian, Slovak, Swedish, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Arabic, Hebrew, Indonesian, Thai, Spanish (Latin America) and many more; the full list is in the app’s language picker.
Bulgarian is listed as beta by Google, but it is the language we tested most, together with English.
Finding questions in other languages
Meeting Ears finds questions automatically when a line ends with a question mark, in any language, or starts with a question word in English or Bulgarian (“what”, “how”, “could you…”, “какво”, “как”, “може ли…”). In other languages, a question the speech model writes without a question mark may not be caught: click the line and press Answer.
Answers and translation
- Answers are written in the language the question was asked in.
- Translate in the Live tab translates lines into any language of the list. See Translate.
- The app itself is in English.
