The Live tab

Answers and the live transcript side by side: Auto and Manual, answering any line, translating, and answer cards.

The Live tab has two columns: Answers on the left and the Transcript on the right. Each scrolls on its own.

Auto or Manual

  • Auto answers questions by itself as soon as the speaker has finished.
  • Manual only marks questions in the transcript (Question, with an Answer button) until you choose one.

This is the same setting as Settings → Listening & requests → Answer automatically. If Detect requests is off there, nothing is answered by itself in either mode.

Questions from: Others or Everyone

Others (the default) looks for questions in the system audio only. Everyone also answers questions you ask yourself, which is useful in a practice session or when you think out loud. The change applies to lines heard from then on.

Whole turns, not fragments

Speech recognition ends a line at every short pause, so one question often arrives as two or three lines. Meeting Ears waits until the speaker’s turn has ended (about 1.5 seconds without new words from them, another speaker, or at most 6 seconds after the question) and answers the whole turn once.

Answer or translate any line

  • Click a line. The rest of its turn is outlined as a suggestion: Answer turn answers all of it, Answer line only that line. Translate turn and Translate line work the same way.
  • Shift+click selects a range and Ctrl+click adds or removes a line. The bar then shows N lines selected · Answer · Translate · Clear.
  • Keyboard: ↑ ↓ Home End move between lines, Space selects, Enter answers.
  • Grey lines are still being heard and can’t be selected yet.

Answer cards

  • The newest card is on top. When the service rebuilds the full question from the lines, the card shows it as Q: …, with a button to show the lines it came from.
  • Copy copies the answer, Shorter asks for a shorter one, and Pin keeps the card on top.
  • If an answer fails, Retry. If your live time ran out or your email isn’t verified, the card offers See plans or Open Account.
  • See answer on a question in the transcript jumps to its card.

Answer quality

Settings → Listening & requests → Answer quality trades speed for depth: Fastest (~1 s), Balanced (~2 s) or Most capable (~5 s). Answer length is set per preset in Context.

Translate

Choose the language in Translate to at the top of the transcript (English (US) by default; your choice is remembered). The translation appears under the line, with Copy and ×. Translation works only while you are listening, and translations are kept for that meeting only.

Use Search transcript to find a name or a number. The transcript follows the newest line; scroll up to read, and ↓ Latest brings you back.
